About Me:

My name is Miriam Turner and I have been teaching Family and Consumer Sciences for the last 31 years.  I love every aspect of my job.  I am a 1978 graduate of Huffman High School, graduated cum laude from Samford University and began my teaching career at my alma mater, Huffman High School.  I remained there for eight years and moved to Clay Chalkville High School when it was built.  Homewood High School knocked at my door in 1999 and I taught there for the next five years.  I have lived in Leeds since 1997, so when they called me and asked if I was interested in coming to teach FACS at Leeds High School I decided to come home and teach in my own community.  This is a decision that I have never regretted!  I love Leeds, Alabama.  Both of my children graduated, with honors, from Leeds High School.  Although, I began my life as an Auburn fan that soon changed when both of my children (and all of my money) went to The University of Alabama!  I am adviser to Leeds High School FCCLA and the Varsity Cheer Sponsor. I am honored to be a part of the Leeds City School System and consider the students, faculty and administration to be a blessing in my life.
