I joined the Leeds High School staff in 1999.  Previously, I taught English and Creative Writing at Middle College High School in Memphis, TN and English, Creative Writing, and A.V.I.D. classes at Lincoln High School in Stockton, CA before moving to Pelham, AL.  I graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Secondary Education majoring in English with a history minor.
I have enjoyed stints as cheer leading and yearbook sponsor.  I currently serve as a c0-sponsor of the LHS senior class and as sponsor of The GreenWave News, our LHS online newspaper.
In addition to teaching English 11, this will be the second year I am honored to guide our juniors through a year-long study of Advanced Placement Language & Composition in preparation for the AP exam.
I have two amazing daughters (Liz and Suzie), a terrific son-in-law (Bill), five incredible grandchildren (Madeline, Lindsey, Christopher, Emma, and Reese), and a fabulous puppy (Bella)!
